TOWN COUNCIL MEETING
CALL TO ORDER: The Town Council
President Brian Hayes called the Town Council meeting to order at

MINUTES: Brian Hayes moved, seconded by Steve Smith to
approve the minutes of the
· Structure fires (1 in Hamilton and 1 in Salem Center)
· 2 Medical assist calls
· 2 Standby calls
· 1 Fire Alarm (Ashley)
· 3 Vehicle Accidents
· 1 Fundraiser
On March 6, there will be a breakfast from 7 a.m. till 10 a.m. and little league baseball sign-ups from 8 a.m. till 11 a.m. at the fire station. Come and see the remodeled kitchen.
MARSHAL: During the month of February, (10) warnings, (14) citations, (12) incident reports, (3) other agency incidents, and (2) arrests. March 5-21 marks the start of Blitz 62. The focus will center on Aggressive Driving and Seat Belt violations.
UTILITY DEPARTMENT: The water department received a price quotation from the Utility Supply Company on the remote meter reading system.

In the water system, there are 92 touch read and Neptune residential meters and 49 touch read and Neptune pit meters. The remaining 116 water meters will be old Badger and Hershey water meters. The Town Manager recommended that Major Moves monies could be used for infrastructure. He also suggested that the cost be spread over 3 years. We would replace the Hershey and Badger meters first and then proceed with replacing the others. There are possibilities of also purchasing refurbished meters. B. Hayes made a motion to accept the recommendation, seconded by K. Kope. Motion carried.
CLERK‘S
REPORT: The clerk-treasurer will be attending ILMCT
classes March 8-10 at
TOWN
MANAGER: 6 purchase orders were issued in January (December 21 to
January 17) for $2,037.41 12 purchase orders were issued in February (January
18 to February 21) for $10,463.53. Total for year is 15 purchase orders for
$12,500.99. In January, there were 2,945visits for 5,944 pages on the Hudson
web site. Ammonia for January was 47.5.7/mgl on
928,000 gallons of flow. There is a public hearing on the fire territory at 6;
30 P, M, March 11 at the Salem Center Volunteer Fire Department. Currently, there is a resolution/ordinance
joint meeting with the Hudson Town Council and the Salem Township Advisory
Board on March 17 at 6:30 at the Hudson Town Hall. The expected date of closing on the property
for the Dollar General is mid March. There are permits pending the sale. The “Shovel ready” industrial site
application has been mailed. The total
cost was $8,310.00 with expectation that half will be reimbursed by the Indiana
Economic Development Corporation.
OLD BUSINESS: Gene Hamm brought up the previously enacted
Hudson withdrawing from the Steuben County Economic Development Corp. B. Hayes
explained the issue was not funds but other economic reasons.
CLAIMS: Claims were approved and signed.
