FIRE DEPARTMENT:  The results of the Mandatory Firefighter Class that was completed on January 16 were that all passed. The Insurance Services Office, Inc. has completed a review of fire protection within the Hudson Volunteer Fire Department area of responsibility.  The rating, referred to as the ISO rating, has changed from 7/9 to 5/9.  This means that the fire rating for insurance has improved if you live within 5 miles of the fire department and have a hydrant within 1000 feet.  While the change for an individual insurance policy will be small, the total decline for all those within the five mile area will be very large.  A copy of the report is available for review at the Town Hall and the Fire Department. Quotes are being obtained from different vendors on the items approved in the FEMA grant for the air packs and turnout gear. All of the tools ordered from LOIT funding are in service and on the trucks. The new command truck is complete and in service. The only thing lacking is a light bar for the top of it. The president requested quotes be gotten and submitted at the next council meeting.  Since the last meeting, the Hudson Volunteer Fire Department has had a total of 11 incidents:

·         Structure fires (1 in Hamilton and 1 in Salem Center)

·         2 Medical assist calls

·         2 Standby calls

·         1 Fire Alarm (Ashley)

·         3 Vehicle Accidents

·         1 Fundraiser

On March 6, there will be a breakfast from 7 a.m. till 10 a.m. and little league baseball sign-ups from 8 a.m. till 11 a.m. at the fire station. Come and see the remodeled kitchen.

MARSHAL: During the month of February, (10) warnings, (14) citations, (12) incident reports, (3) other agency incidents, and (2) arrests.  March 5-21 marks the start of Blitz 62.  The focus will center on Aggressive Driving and Seat Belt violations.
