meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

OLD
BUSINESS: The status of the water rates was
discussed. The increase of half of the
proposed rate increase made in November of 2008 has helped in meeting the outgo
of expenses, but not solved the deficiency. The Town Council felt that there
was the need to put the other half of the rate increase in effect. This will bring the total increase of the
base rate to $17.80. This will be
presented at the Town Council meeting on July 24, 2009.
NEW
BUSINESS: The 2010 Budget was discussed. The expected tax disbursements will be less
in 2010 due to the change and caps in property assessment. The budget experienced cuts last year and
cuts were made in the 2010 appropriations to reflect these cuts. After a review and discussion of the budget
items in each of the funds, the Town Council was in general approval of the budgets
as presented. A budget workshop is
scheduled for Friday, July 24th with the DGLF at 1:45pm. More information at that meeting will clarify
the budget details.
