Bid Opening on Contract #3

April 9, 2006

The main purpose of the meeting of this special meeting was the opening of bid for the construction of the water/wastewater line for the proposed Family Dollar on SR #4.

The meeting was called to order at 10:00 am in the Town Hall. Those present were: Sean Walker, Brian Hayes, Gene Hamm, Town Manager Ward Odom, and Clerk-Treasurer Atta “Tatsy” Hayes. Also present were: Mr. Brian Houghton representing Jones & Henry Engineering, Mr. Jeff Klink representing Ace Excavating, Inc., and Mr. Michael McGinnis representing Land Construction. President Sean Walker motioned to suspend the approval of the March 30^th Council minutes. Motion seconded by Brian Hayes and unanimously approve. The meeting was then turned over to Brian Houghton for the opening of the bids.

Brian Houghton went over the math of each bid checking if figures were correct and all specifications were in order. All bids were correct and he presented this to the council. Brian Hayes made the motion to except the bid of Ace Excavating for $52,802.50. Motion seconded by Sean Walker. Motion carried with 3 ayes and 0 nays.

Brian Hayes motioned, seconded by Sean Walker to adjourn. Motion carried.
