Hudson Redevelopment Commission
January 24, 2011
The Hudson Redevelopment
Commission met in the Hudson Town Hall on January 24, 2011. The President Kathy
Kope called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Kathy Kope motioned that the
minutes of the previous meeting be approved, seconded by Brian Hayes. Motion
carried.
Those in attendance were:
Steve Smith, Brian Hayes, Bill Ebert, Gary Kope, Ed Miller, Jamie McClintock,
Tatsy Hayes, and Ward Odom.
At the end of 2010, the
Redevelopment Commission had total debt of $ 162,365.25 which is being repaid
at the rate of $ 26,000 per year. Additionally, there is a payment to the
developer of the Family Dollar store of $ 8,000 per year. There are 2 more
payments remaining. The ending balance for the year 2010 was $44,024.92. The combined debt payments are $ 34,000 per
year and existing funds and future property taxes from the TIF District will be
sufficient to meet the requirements.
The Hudson Redevelopment
Commission completed one new activity, this being the construction and lease of
a new Dollar General, just east of and abutting the existing Family Dollar. There
are no long term expenses with this new business, as all bills were paid in the
past year. The expense was extending the water and wastewater lines through
that property to prevent from becoming landlocked.
President Kathy Kope
presented the annual report to the Town Council concerning the status of the TIF
District at the close of 2010. The
letter was signed and will be presented at the council meeting.
B. Hayes motioned that the
present officers and board be reelected to serve for 2011. Brian Hayes seconded this motion. The motion carried.
