Town Manager Ward Odom reported that all of the trees from the Tree Planting Grant have been inspected by the state. A few were planted too deep and this is being corrected. The inspector said to back off on the watering, that the trees only needed about 5 gallons a month. Franz’s Nursery has not checked on the tree planted on the Minier property. We are waiting for this and what further action will be taken toward replacement. Ward Odom passed around a map concerning the areas of the Emerald Ash Boar infestation.
The $24,500 from the Steuben Community Foundation has been received for the playground equipment at Hardy Park. Tyden Brammel’s Garage Sale was not as successful as they had hoped, but will still help with the ramp, steps and retaining wall. Form work and cement work will be donated. We have found some cheaper sources for mulch which will allow money elsewhere.
Larry Johnson made a request to paint the dug-outs on the outside and replace the wood. Larry is to contact the clerk-treasurer for additional information. There is still community service that can be used.
The group discussed and made revisions to the Skateboard
Ordinance. Skateboarding is allowed on
all streets except
Reports were made concerning the Ashley-Hudson Festival and 5k & 10k run.
