Planning Commission Members Present: Marlene Smith, Sean Walker, Gene Hamm, Brian Hayes, Anna Platt, and Steven Smith
President Marlene Smith called the Planning Commission to
order at
With the approaching auction of the building at 308 N. Main, President Smith felt that the steps going into the building be removed and the entrance to the building be made to conform to the other entrances of the adjacent buildings. She felt that this presented a possible hazard for pedestrians. Following discussion, the town manager was asked to write a letter to the building owner about moving the steps from the sidewalk into a recessed entry.
The location for the mail drop box was a topic of discussion. Suggestions were made for the possibility of turning the box around for a drop off from a car. Another suggestion was to put a drive up box in the rear of the building for a drop off box. The town manager was asked to write a letter to the Postmaster to inquire if this could be an option.
The president also suggested that an ordinance be written to ban smoking in all the town offices and buildings. The town manager will prepare a draft ordinance.
Having no further business, President Smith moved, seconded by Gene Hamm to adjourn the meeting.
Respectfully submitted,
Atta “Tatsy” Hayes
Clerk-Treasurer
