HUDSON PARK BOARD

September 8, 2007

The Park Board met on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in the Town Hall.  Those present were: Anna Platt, Betty Hamm, Sarah Odom, Gene Hamm, Tatsy Hayes, Larry Johnson, and Ward Odom.

Due to the absence of the president, Chad Minier, the meeting was called to order by Anna Platt.  Those present were given copies of the minutes of the previous meeting.  The president moved, seconded by Gene Hamm to accept the minutes.  Motion carried.

Larry Johnson told the group that a group from the ball league was going to paint the dugouts and bleachers weather permitting.  Ward Odom said that no word has been received from TydenBrammall in regards to donated manpower help for the park.  He felt that the town tractor could be used to dig out the area by the concession stand and forms and cement work could be done by the town and volunteers.

Town Manager Ward Odom passed around another map concerning the areas of the Emerald Ash Boar infestation. It appears that the infestation is spreading

Louise Brock inquired about the $24,500 from the Steuben Community Foundation for the playground equipment at Hardy Park. The Town Manager said that the play equipment needed to be ordered and wanted to be sure of their selection.  The selection was verified and it was decided to put the brown plastic mulch under the play set.  The town will check with Gayle Shultz about railroad ties to encircle the area.  Cost of mulch will be explored with a company in Edgerton.

The skate board ordinance became too involved and another is being drafted.  Signs have been posted in Hardy Park, but we need sometime of ordinance for violators.

Sarah Odom from the Hudson Auxiliary passed out a paper giving information about a proposed Halloween Town Festival being planned for October 27th.  She explained some the events being tentatively planned and invited anyone interested to come to a meeting on September 9th at 6:00 pm in the Town Hall.  The group would welcome any interested in helping.

The next Park Board Meeting will be Monday, September 24th at 7:00 pm in the Town Hall.  Betty Hamm moved, seconded by Gene Hamm to adjourn.  Motion passed.

Respectfully submitted,

Atta “Tatsy” Hayes
